Deputy President William Ruto has admitted that he has a 'serious issue' with Chief Justice Dr Willy Mutunga's stud.
He has said that Mutunga's wearing of a stud does not send a good message to the young generation, especially those who want to be lawyers.
"Personally, I have a son who is a lawyer and I have serious issues with my Chief Justice having an earring, a very serious issue," Ruto said on Tuesday in an interview with Citizen TV.
He added: "As a parent, I wouldn't want to have a role-model or a mentor for my son carrying an earring and I have made it public,".
Ruto was responding to the question of whether Jubilee coalition was satisfied with current composition of IEBC, stating that they had similar concerns as Cord over IEBC but were not calling for demos.
"We have problems with IEBC just like we have problems with other public institutions, but there are stipulated mechanisms in the constitution that ensures that whatever issues are executed in a proper and orderly manner as provided by the supreme law," Ruto said.
The DP noted that it was impossible to disband institution (s) every time one individual or a group of them have issue (s) with it without following the due procedure.
