Police have arrested Suna East MP Junet Mohamed outside Nation Centre in Nairobi where he had gone for an interview.
Earlier on Tuesday, journalists had waited outside Nation Centre as the building was surrounded by heavily-armed Flying Squad officers.
There was a brief scuffle during the arrest as police wanted to take the MP to the CID headquarters on Kiambu Road in their own vehicle.
But Siaya Senator James Orengo, who is acting as Junet's lawyer, insisted on taking his client for questioning.
Police went to the MP's house on Monday evening but he was not around, prompting a search for him.
Junet is among six politicians asked to appear at the CID headquarters to record statements over inciting remarks.
Others summoned by IG Joseph Boinnet were Moses Kuria (Gatundu South), Ferdinand Waititu (Kabete), Kimani Ngunjiri (Bahati) and Aisha Jumwa (Kilifi woman representative).
Police surrounded the homes of Machakos Senator Johnson Muthama and Kitutu Masaba MP Timothy Bosire in Nairobi on Tuesday, and placed them under house arrest.
No one is being allowed in and out of Muthama's home.
Waititu and Kuria appeared before the DCI on Monday evening and were grilled before leaving.
